Job Description: RN/Paramedic/EMT EMS Manager
At West River Health Services, the RN EMS Manager is responsible for the financial management, staff management, development of day-to-day operations, and program development in the Emergency Medical System. The managing EMS RN also performs highly specialized tasks such as developing and managing educational programs or developing and implementing deployment plans and system status management. They are involved in administration, finance, human resources, clinical affairs, and quality management.
Principle tasks:
Operations Management
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, evaluate, reward, discipline, and when necessary, terminate employees
• Develop job descriptions and job duties for each level of personnel
• Develop work schedules to ensure adequate staff to cover each shift
• Create and monitor budgets for a cost-effective program
• Manage revenue-generating services
• Justify improvements in the department design and layout
• Work cooperatively with clients, facility staff, physicians, consultants, vendors, and other service providers
Active North Dakota License - required
PALS, ACLS - required within 3 months of start
2 years experience in EMS or emergency medicine - highly preferred

- This position plans, directs, and coordinates the work of subordinate EMS officers, EMTs, paramedics, and non-credentialed personnel. EMS staff typically respond to major incidents involving mass casualties and multi-agency operations and operate at those incidents as part of a multi-agency unified command structure.
- This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Emergency Preparedness functions for West River Health Services.
Active North Dakota License - required
PALS, ACLS - required within 3 months of start
2 years experience in EMS or emergency medicine - highly preferred
