Position Summary:
To assist the Materials Manager in all functions related to the Materials Management department. Maintain knowledge of other department’s functions as they relate to the Materials Management Department.

Excellence in Practice:
- Accurately sorts incoming mail & freight and processes outgoing mail & freight.
- Collects & processes Patient issue records and replenishes stickered sub-inventories.
- Responsible for assessing replenishment needs for department type sub-inventories and re-stocking as necessary.
- Responsible for accurately sorting and disseminating all incoming mail & freight and processing all outgoing mail & freight.
- Documenting MMIS (Materials Management Information System) purchases, maintaining MMIS records related to the purchase of goods and services, verifying invoices for payment, coordinates product returns & networks with departments to determine needs.
- Maintains all inventory transactions, including logging, filing and maintaining source documents in an organized fashion, making any corrections to transaction errors.
- Responsible for ordering, receiving, controlling, storing and accurately issuing all items in the MM inventory. Inspect, verify and accept or reject supplies.
- Orders, receives, controls, stores & accurately issues all items stored in inventory; inspects, verifies & accepts/rejects supplies.
- Orders, receives & accurately disseminates all non-stock items ordered ordered via the MMIS.
- Oversees & performs periodic inventory counts of the main inventory and all MMIS defines sub inventories.
- Purchases supplies & equipment for the organization; conducts product research & evaluation in collaboration with department managers while under the supervision of the Materials Manager.
- Collaborates with department managers to make contact with, negotiate & evaluate vendors.
- Obtains & reviews bids under the supervision of the Materials Manager.
- Reviews contracting, GPO & other, for the product, equipment & services purchased via the MMIS.
- Plans, organizes & oversees patient supply charging under the supervision of the Materials Manager.
- Education: Requires high school diploma or equivalent. Some college education preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in supply chain, computerized inventory systems, and/or accounts payable desired. Typing and computer knowledge required.
- License Requirements: Must maintain a valid driver’s license & be insurable.
