Position Summary:
The Paramedic is accountable for delivery of patient care during the shift. The Paramedic is responsible for meeting the established Standards of Care, managing assigned personnel, and promoting collaboration among departments and personnel, and any other duties as assigned by EMS Coordinator. The Paramedic also oversees the restocking and cleanliness of the ambulances.

The Paramedic also oversees the restocking and cleanliness of the ambulances.
Excellence in Practice
- Completes primary and secondary assessment timely, including psychosocial environment and physiological factors that may affect the patient.
- Understands EMS protocols and standards of practice.
- Provides safe cares, following established guidelines and within scope of practice.
- Good communication skills between nursing and EMS/Physician EMS. Contacts hospital en route and receives orders from Physician when appropriate.
- Able to work independently and also as a team.
- Knowledgeable about medication and side effects. Safely Administers medications within scope of practice. Good IV skills/Interosseous.
- Provides concise and accurate patient care reports in a timely manner both en route and face to face. Written documentation is complete.
- Restock and clean ambulance after runs. Check outdates and maintain stock. Good working knowledge of all EMS equipment.
- Assists with community and staff education.
- Good time management between EMS role and secondary job assignments.
- Education: Current ND NREMT – Paramedic Licensure
- Experience: Previous experience preferred.
- License Requirements: Required ND driver’s license, ACLS
- Preferred – NALS, PALS, PHTLS, EVOC
- Incident Command 100, 200, 700, 800
Must be able to go “En Route” with ambulance within 10 minutes from time of page out. If live more than 10 minutes from ambulance garage, staff are required to stay in ambulance housing provided by WRHS.
