As an Engineer Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hospital's infrastructure and facilities. Your responsibilities include:
- Maintenance oversight: Taking charge of building, grounds, and utility maintenance, with a keen eye for potential disruptions to hospital operations.
- Inspection vigilance: Conducting regular inspections to identify equipment malfunctions and safety hazards, making judgment calls on maintenance schedules and supply usage.
- Collaboration: Assisting the Manager of Environmental Services in conducting periodic inspections and coordinating repair and installation activities.
- Carpentry and minor repairs: Handling minor carpentry tasks such as patching, shelving, and touch-up painting as necessary.
- Emergency response: Making swift decisions during power outages, equipment failures, fires, and other disruptions to ensure safety and minimize downtime.
- Supervision: Overseeing utility installation and repair work to ensure compliance with safety regulations and inspection standards, especially in the absence of the Manager of Environmental Services.
- Initiative and coordination: Taking initiative in approving work orders, prioritizing repair tasks, and coordinating with vendors for Bio-Medical issues that require external expertise.
